Description: The common forest marten of the Himalaya is yellow- black above, blonde on the underside and a deep canary yellow at the neck.

Weight: Male: 2.5 to 5.8 kg     Female: 1.6 to 3.8 kg
Diet: Rodents, birds, lizards and fruits.

Young per birth: 2 to 5 young
Life span: In wild: 10 to 12 years     In captivity: 16 years
Habitat: Moist deciduous forests through the Himalaya and Northeast India.
Distribution: Northern India, Russia, Malay Peninsula, Taiwan, central and northeastern China , Korean Peninsula.
Current Population Status: Decreasing
